Prebuckling deformation and first buckling mode of the perfect dome in the top image of the previous slide

The Ehime Public Hall in Matsuyama, Japan (top image in the previous slide) was designed by Japanese engineers, Tange and Tsuboi. It is a shallow spherical inclined shell supported by 20 columns. A ring is provided around the base between columns. The thickness of the shell is 8 cm with a diameter of 49,35m and a rise of 7 m at the crown.
