A new optimized “fold98updown” design; general and local buckling modes and buckling load factors. The boundary conditions along the left-hand edge have been changed from “u,v,w held; rotation free” (Figs. 6 – 8) to “symmetry or anti-symmetry” in order to simulate the behavior of a wide panel of which this section is a part. Compare the optimized profile shown in the top frame in this figure with that displayed in Fig. 6 (previous slide).
