Professor Panagiotis Michaleris

Mechanical Engineering, Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA
Senior Software Architect at Autodesk

Biography:
Dr. Michaleris has over 25 years of experience in high performance computing and thermo-mechanical process modeling such as additive manufacturing, welding and thermal forming. After receiving his Ph.D., Dr. Michaleris joined Edison Welding Institute (EWI) as senior research engineer. In 1997 he joined the faculty of the Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering of The Pennsylvania State University pursuing teaching and research in computational mechanics, finite element methods, manufacturing process modeling, and residual stress and distortion. In 2012 Dr. Michaleris co-founded Pan Computing LLC for the development and support commercial software for physics-based modeling of additive manufacturing processes, which was acquired by Autodesk in 2016.
