Objective versus design iterations during 8 successive executions of the PANDA2 processor, PANDAOPT

This is Fig. 4 from the 1995 p2stags paper. This slide shows the evolution of the objective (weight of the panel in pounds) for the eight PANDA2 optimization runs (8 executions of the PANDA2 processor called “PANDAOPT”) required for the determination of an optimum design.

At the time the results presented here were published the PANDA2 processors called “SUPEROPT” and "SUPERDUPEROPT" did not yet exist.
