"Global" optimization via the SUPEROPT processor of PANDA2 of a ring-stiffened cylindrical shell with use of the discretized skin/ring single module

This is Fig. 31 of the 1999 additional solutions paper. This slide shows optimization via the PANDA2 processor, SUPEROPT, of a T-ring stiffened cylindrical shell.

Each “spike” in the plot corresponds to a new “starting” design obtained randomly by the PANDA2 processor called AUTOCHANGE. Five PANDAOPTs per AUTOCHANGE were specified for the execution of SUPEROPT.

SUPEROPT is used to obtain "global" optimum designs. The inter-ring buckling model is based on the new discretized skin-with-smeared-stringers/discretized ring single module, introduced into PANDA2 in 1999.
