A course on Buckling of Plates and Shells (ESDEP WG 8, Lecture 8.9: Buckling of Stringer-stiffened cylindrical shells.

Objective/Scope: To describe the buckling behaviour of stiffened shells and to analyse the different types of failure. A practical design procedure, based on the European recommendations, for stringer stiffened cylinders subject to axial load is presented.
