Martin Payne writes:
"Orthogrids – or possibly isogrid (as shown in the image [here]) – on the tank barrel are machined from flat plates, leaving stiffening ribs that ideally are tall (for strength, or more accurately, stiffness), allowing them to be thin (for lightness)."
