This is Fig. 50 from the 1982 decade paper. This slide shows load-deflection curves predicted by BOSOR5 for an externally pressurized, ring-stiffened, titanium cylindrical shell with and without primary creep included in the analysis.
With creep neglected, failure of the perfect shell is predicted to occur as non-axisymmetric bifurcation buckling with 12 circumferential waves at an external pressure of about 1820 psi.
With creep included, failure is predicted to occur at a somewhat lower pressure (about 1700 psi) as axisymmetric collapse.
Note that the vertical scale is expanded; the effect of creep is not as great as it appears at first glance; including creep reduces the failure load by about 7 per cent.
