"I've attached a photograph o me in front of NASA's Super Guppy taken last Friday morning in our hangar. Dawn Jegley had a multi-bay wing box arrive for mounting in our COmbined Loads Test System (COLTS) under a variety of loads. I believe this bird is based at Ellington Field (right near Johnson Space Center). As you can clearly see, there are a network of axial/circumferentially stiffened shells here. Getting this plane in and out of the hangar was a bit of a tedious process- the roll-away door has a "sub roll-up/down" door at the center so the vertical stabilizer and fuselage crown can clear the building."
