Seven roles that variables introduced by the GENOPT user play

The GENOPT user establishes the following for each variable::

1. A name for that variable

2. A one-line definition of that variable

3. A "help" paragraph that provides more information about that variable

4 The role of that variable

5. Whether that variable is a simple variable, a vector, or an array

A rather elaborate example of a list of variables, their definitions, and the roles that they play is given for a generic case in the next slide.
