Biography:
Mehmet Aktas is Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Usak University. He received B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Karadeniz Technical University in 1998, M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering specializing in plasticity from Ege University in 2003 and Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering specializing in impact behavior of composite structures from Dokuz Eylül University in 2007. He is author and co- author of 27 national and international journal papers His work has been cited over 175 times and his current ‘h’ index is 8.He is reviewer in 26 high impact-factor journals in engineering and material science. He had performed 7 scientific projects, three of them were supported from “The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜB?TAK)” and one of them was supported from “The State Planning Organization (DPT)”.He is Editor-in-Chief of “Usak University Journal of Material Sciences”, a member of International Scientific committee of ICCS16 and ICCS17, a member of scientific committee of KOMPEGE 2013, an editorial board member of 10 international journals, an advisory board of 1 international journal and a reviewer’s board member of 2 international journals. His main scientific interests are impact behavior of composite structures, determination of mechanical properties, pin loaded for various composite plates, elasto-plastic stress analysis, buckling behavior of structure, finite element analysis with some commercial software included ABAQUS and ANSYS. Reading is his favorite activity which is covered the majority of his daily time.
