SUMMARY
Dr Tohid Ghanbari Ghazijahani completed his BEng in Civil Engineering and MEng and
PhD in Structural Engineering. He was a lecturer at PNU in 2010–13, and became a distinguished lecturer in this role in 2013. He completed his PhD in 2017 with Dean of Faculty's Outstanding Research Performance Award (UTAS, 2017). After his PhD, he was a postdoc lecturer and researcher (e.g. sole in charge of Structural Mechanics) at UTAS. He was a visiting lecturer of UTAS at XUST in China in 2016. He was offered by a lectureship position at UTAS, and a University Fellowship by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) of the University of Adelaide in present 2017. He accepted the latter position and is now a University Research Fellow (level B) at the University of Adelaide. Tohid’s research focus is thin-walled steel, and lightweight composite (steel, timber, FRP)
structures including: experimental techniques, buckling and post-buckling, geometrical irregularities, static and
fatigue experiments, and sustainability and environmental consideration in construction.
