Biography:
I am currently a postdoc associate in Prof. Wing-Kam Liu's group in Department of Mechanical Engineering at Northwestern University. I obtained my Ph.D. on Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland-College Park under the supervision of Prof. Teng Li. During my Ph.D. study, I also visited Prof. Zhigang Suo's group at Harvard University as a visiting Ph.D. fellow. My research goal is to understand and design advanced mechanical and material systems theoretically and computationally with a focus on understanding the underlying physics and mechanics. The novel mechanical and material systems that I am currently interested in include 1) functional nanostructures in flexible and wearable electronics, 2) energetic materials such as novel anodes in lithium/sodium-ion batteries and 3) soft devices and soft materials developed based on hydrogels and dielectric elastomers.
