Biography:
Nhon Nguyen-Thanh joined Nanyang Technological University, Singapore as a research assosiate in 2015. Prior to this, he held a Postdoctoral Fellow position in institute of Applied Mechanics, Technical University Braunschweig, Germany (2013-2015). He received his PhD from Bauhaus University Weimar, Germany in 2013. His research interests are in computational mechanics, focusing on the modeling and finite element analysis of solids and structures. In particular, he is interested in isogeometric analysis and collocation methods that combine higher order accuracy and robustness with efficient ways of incorporating very complex geometric models. His current research involves engineering mechanics, structural dynamics and fracture mechanics.
