Reseearch Interests:
Professor ThomsenĀ“s interests include experimental, theoretical and computational mechanics with special focus on design, characterization and evaluation of lightweight structures made of composite and sandwich materials as well as light metal alloys. His main field of research concerns the modelling and experimental characterization of localised effects and failure in lightweight composite and sandwich structures subjected to static, fatigue and dynamic loading conditions.
