Design concept of solar updraft chimneys

From Professor Wilfried B. Krätzig. Professor Krätzig writes: "Solar Updraft Chimneys are components of Solar Updraft Power Plants, which produce electricity from the sun by the most economic technology presently known. The solar chimney in this slide is 1000m high, has a diameter of about 140m, and the shell thickness is 0.25m on top over large distances, increasing to 0.60m, all fabricated of high-performance reinforced concrete."

"The solar updraft chimneys are design projects and - up to now -there are no built chimneys."
