Brief description of PANDA2 and references to papers written about PANDA2 from 1987 to 2007

PANDA2, a computer program for optimization of flat or curved, ring and stringer stiffened, composite panels subjected to possibly several sets of combined in-plane loads, normal pressure, and temperature, was developed from 1987 to 2007 and is still maintained by the developer, David Bushnell.

The optimizer used in PANDA2 is called "ADS", a gradient-based optimizer developed by Garrett Vanderplaats and his colleagues many years ago.

The slides presented here and in the two other PANDA2 slide shows are taken from the papers listed under "PANDA2 REFERENCES".

Several of the slides in this first PANDA2 slide show, entitled "panda2 1987 - 1995", are from papers that are more recent than 1995. They are included here in order to give a fairly complete picture of PANDA2's present capabilities, which are more extensive than those that existed in 1995.

Many of the papers listed as references in this slide can be downloaded from this website.
