Symmetry boundary conditions are applied along the two longitudinal edges parallel to the stringer.
This slide shows views of the post-buckling deformation of PANEL I (PANDA2 mode-jumping constraint turned off) during the initial static phase of loading. The same scale factor is used for all four frames.
There were three successive STAGS executions required for determination of the behavior of this axially compressed panel up to and including collapse of the panel:
1. an initial nonlinear static equlibrium analysis,
2. a transient analysis in which the applied load is held constant, and
3. a post-transient nonlinear static equilibrium analysis.
These three phases of the complete nonlinear STAGS analysis of the stiffened panel are indicated in the next slide.
