"Classical" buckling stress of a thin, monocoque, isotropic, perfect, elastic, uniformly axially compressed plate

From:
Table 15.2 on p. 730 of "Roark's Formulas for Stress and Strain", Seventh Edition, by Warren C. Young and Richard G. Budynas, McGraw-Hill, 2002

The coefficient K depends on the aspect ratio, a/b of the plate. The buckling load of the flat plate is not sensitive to initial geometric imperfections.

The boundary conditions are "classical" simple support on all four edges of the plate.
