This slide shows:
(a) Discretized model of the 45-degree cone-cylinder specimen for analysis by BOSOR5 and
(b) an exaggerated view of the axisymmetric prebuckling deflected shape at the buckling pressure.
The material in the immediate neighborhood of the cone-cylinder junction is stressed beyond its proportional limit at the buckling pressure.
