Fig. 10b Vibration modes predicted by the STAGS finite element model displayed in the previous figure. This is the optimized long propellant tank supported by aft and forward skirts. Compare with the GENOPT/BIGBOSOR4 predictions in the top row of Fig. 9. The predictions listed above labeled “BIGBOSOR4” are from the GENOPT/BIGBOSOR4 software with use of the temporary versions of addbosor4 (addbosor4.tank2.density.var [2]) and bosdec (bosdec.tank2.density.var [2]), not from the “stand-alone” (permanent) version of BIGBOSOR4, which cannot handle material density of a shell wall layer that varies along the meridian within a shell segment.
