The propellant tank is reinforced by a tapered external doubler and by an external ring with rectangular cross section where the ring of struts is attached to the tank. Each strut in the ring of struts is assumed to be attached at the centroidal axis of the propellant tank support ring. NOTE: in this sketch the internal smeared orthogrid "layer" of the propellant tank wall is not shown.
