Two buckled specimens, each with two short cylindrical "bowed outward" segments

from Jan Blachut, Department of Mechanical Engineering, The University of Liverpool.

The buckling behavior occurs in only one of the two segments of each specimen. The buckling mode resembles that displayed three slides ago for the hydrostatically compressed specimen with one "bowed outward" segment.
