Starting and optimum designs of perfect and imperfect cylindrical shells with T-shaped major stiffeners and blade-shaped sub-stiffeners

This is Table 3 from the 2005 substiff paper. Listed here are the starting design and optimum designs obtained by PANDA2 for perfect and imperfect cylindrical shells under combined axial compression Nx, circumferenial compression Ny, and in-plane shear Nxy.

The cylindrical shells are stiffened by external T-shaped major rings and external T-shaped major stringers and external blade sub-rings and external blade sub-stringers.

The loading used for all the configurations studied in this 2005 substiff paper is as follows:

Axial Resultant (lb/in), Nx Load Set A = -100000 lb/in
Hoop Resultant (lb/in), Ny Load Set A = -20000 lb/in
In-plane shear (lb/in), Nxy Load Set A = 20000 lb/in
Uniform pressure, (psi),p Load Set A = -200 psi (The pressure p is in equilibrium with the hoop resultant Ny)
Zero loading in Load Set B
